Dictatorship and Democracy in Europe, 1920 - 1945

Welcome to a time that we most certainly won't be forgetting any time soon...

Now, for the next two exam years (2016 and 2017), Dictatorship and Democracy is a prescribed topic, meaning it absolutely has to be covered in your study of Leaving Cert History. Specifically, you must look at the three Case Studies from this topic - Stalin's Show Trials, the Nuremberg Rallies, and the Jarrow March. Go to the Case Studies and Documents page to learn more.

Case Studies and Documents

If you want to look at the rest of Dictatorship and Democracy, it has its own page here, but keep in mind that only the Case Studies will come up in the exams for 2016 and 2017, no other part of it will.

  2. Hi Jason, thank you so much for making this information available. Can I ask about section 1 for prescribed documents bit. I understand it won't come up on section 3 as it's prescribed for section 1 but the 3 areas you mention, the case studies jarrow nuremberg and stalin- is that all that's needs to be studied? Thanks!
